Our staff come back holiday after holiday, year after year! They gain valuable experience and skills to support them in their career, enabling them to work their way up the School’s Out ladder!
We provide full support prior to joining the team so you can hit the ground running, and then thorough on-the-job training so you can hone your childcare skills. Learn how to safely instruct activities, deliver a course syllabus and manage large groups. This is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed!

Progressive Pathway
With different job roles and responsibilities available, we have a position to suite your level of experience, alongside ongoing training to provide you with a developmental pathway to progress through the ranks. Of course this comes with hourly pay rises, which are always welcome.

School’s Out Activities is more than just a job. There are many benefits to working at our activity camps and joining our ever-expanding team. Along with flexible working and gaining childcare experience, you will have the opportunity to gain relevant qualifications and access childcare discounts.
Becoming an activity camp leaders is a wonderful chance to inspire young people, have fun, work alongside like-minded friends, and learn lots of new skills along the way.
- We are a Living Wage Employer! As of April 2025 21 yr olds and above earn £12.21 per hour PLUS 12.07% holiday pay meaning a package of £13.68 per hour. That is between £550 – £700 per week depending on your position.
- Build your skills in confidence and leadership
- Uniform supplied to your size (1x Hoody and 2 x T-shirts, whistle and name badge!)
- Earn extra cash through our refer-a-friend scheme! £25 to every successful referral you provide and we employ as a member of staff.
- Lead and deliver fun-filled activities
- Qualified teachers earn a QTS bonus (extra £0.50 per hour worked)
- Choose your days and weeks you work throughout the year.
School Holiday Positions
ACTIVITY LEADER (18yrs+)
Choose which day camp you want to work on and deliver a week’s program (Mon–Fri) of age-specific activities! You’ll need to be energetic, responsible, and with experience of working with children. University students, coaches, and trainee/qualified teachers are especially welcome, but we’re also keen to hear from anyone with the right skills! Pay rate is competitive and based on age, experience, and qualification.

ACTIVITY COURSE MANAGER (20yrs+)
Oversee the daily operations of a School’s Out Activities course, ensuring the seamless delivery of activities across all your chosen course. As a Course Manager, you will lead a team of staff, manage the activities at camp. You will communicate effectively with parents, and work collaboratively with other staff and management. This pivotal role requires strong organisational skills and leadership, ensuring the success of the camp and creating a positive experience for both staff and children. A truly rewarding position.

CAMP MANAGER (21yrs+)
Oversee the day-to-day running of an entire School’s Out venue. Managing a team of staff, looking after finances, communicating with parents, and liaising with school site staff and management. Ensuring the smooth operation of all four day camps within any one venue. A truly rewarding position. Paid our highest rate no matter what age, in line with the level of responsibility.

LIFEGUARD (16yrs+)
Qualified Lifeguards are needed at venues with swimming pools (Currently Ipswich all year-round and Colchester during May Half Term and Summer holidays). With a chance to learn other activity instructions and deliver engaging swimming games in the pool whilst keeping all children safe in the pool. Payrate is competitive and based on age, experience, and qualification.

VOLUNTEER (17yrs+)
Want to start out on a career working with children or as a future coach? Gain valuable experience working with children, show us what you can do, all while having a fun time as part of an exciting team! For volunteering enquiries, please email a cover letter and CV.
NEXT GENERATION (13–16yrs)
If you are 13-16 years old then we want to give you all the tools to become a Leader of the Future. The Next Generation of leaders you could say! With mentors, working journals and rewards along the way, it’s a great developmental course to get involved in!
